NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHHHYYYYY???? So! Here I am ...sitting at home about to watch the FINAL episode for Hana Yori Dango AKA Boys Before Flowers and not JUST the final episode but part 4/4 of the final episode of the entire series (which I manages to complete in 2 days AND still eat and go to work..mindblowing isn't it? or just pathetic...ANYWAYS!) when I go to press play to see if Makino makes it to prom in time and a deceivingly cute robot pops up and reads.." Video Not Available". HA....HA....HA....whhhuuuutttt??? (read in slightly high pitched shaky crazy voice) No, this can't be...how could this happen? I literally broke out into one of those crazy wide eyed laughs that you always hear in thrillers from the seemingly normal person that went on a cool kid killing spree because one the said "cool kids" called her ugly or something in elementary school, as she is confessing her motive at the end of the movie. I had to vent a little so I didn't bust a blood vessel in my eye or anything. All I have to say is...someone had better get to fixing the link before I wake up in the morning (evening) or I guarantee heads will rollllllllll..or I will have to look for the link somewhere else. I haven't decide which one yet, but do you really want to risk me going for option 1????? Yeah, I'm talking to you mysoju.com! You are currently putting the name SOJU to shame (until I can finish the episode and then we are BFF again right?! ^^). UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Fakin' it

I have gotten to the point where I have to fake it at least once a club day. You know, the kind of faking like you remember someone you would normally swear you've never seen before in your life. This all began when I kept having people come up to me .."remember me?" and I'd have to give them the head tilt confused look that any common alcoholic gives when faced with anything involving "memories". I know they say that honesty is the best policy, but I truly think that in cases like this it is better for both parties involved to LIE LIE LIE. This way you avoid the disappointed puppy dog look that is inevitable when you admit that you have no recollection whatsoever of the person in front of you. So after seeing that look of disappointment WAYYYY too many times I decided from that point on I was going to say I remember EVERYONE..."Of course I remember you!! I'm just really bad with names". Seems to have a much better response than the "honest" alternative, and usually it was almost true. Sometimes though...they could just as well be lying about knowing me because I wouldn't know the damn difference. THIS is where it gets a little complicated. What if BOTH parties are fakin' it? Lets say a guy comes up starts dancing and laughing with you like you have been friends for yeaaarrrssss this can be tricky. I usually fall for it for a bit (one of the sideeffects of also being a faker) then I get stuck asking "do I know you?". Luckily the answer is usually "no", allowing me to give them the side eye and walk away, so it has yet to backfire. But I'm sure its only a matter of time. Lets all take a moment to work on preventing this kind of event from happening...actually lets take 6 minutes.
NAPTIME!

Today's Soju Tracker

Ok...so this IS a day late but it is only appropriate since it is about drinking soju after all. Perhaps I should change the title to "Yesterday's Soju Tracker" from now on. That is something to consider.

1/2 bottle Soju

I'm getting so much better!I'm glad I wasn't tracking my soju intake a couple months ago, you might have though I was an alcoholic. Yesterday I learned how to say "alcoholic" in korean( I didnt think the word existed in the korean language!) but of course I forgot it. Typical.

Sweet revenge???

"I was so into getting with this guy for months. I assumed he’d be great in bed since he seemed to always have ladies around the please. When we were getting down to it, and he got naked, I couldn’t even look directly at him. he was so skinny, it was like having sex with a bag of bones. Not to mention he had a teeny tiny peen, and failed to make me orgasm. FAIL."

I just got a message from my ex-boyfriend pointing out that someone had posted about him on a blog where girls can bitch about shitty dudes that they have banged. Hilarious!!! and simply oozing with bitterness, but that's beside the point because it should be appreciated for exactly what it is...the most entertaining thing I've read all week !! Below the picture I have provided the elegantly worded quote. Enjoy.

P.S. I think I have found my new favorite blog...other than mine of course^^

Today's Soju Tracker

Tuesday, February 24th 2009
1/2 bottle (병) Fresh Soju
I know...how boring. BUT it was from a place that promised a happy ending. Doesn't that make it a little better ? ^^

Hair dolls and (not so) happy endings...

NOTICE!! NOT THE ACTUAL HAIR DOLL
So...I've talked about starting this blog for a while, but never got around to it. Well, after the shit storm of craziness I had to endure this past Saturday I decided that it must be done...immediately!
The night started out fine....good food and a little drinky of sake....nothing wrong there. It wasn't until I got to the club that my nerves started to get twisted. I wish someone would explain to me why the majority of English speaking foreigners in Korea (mostly guys) are total douche holes. There is one in particular that slithered up to me at Answer with his close talking and (unjustified) pretentious demeanor...I was cringing before he even started talking. You know those people that talk like they are incessantly auditioning for Hamlet?Yeah, this guy is one of THOSE people. Imagine that voice, then add in a hefty serving of bridge and tunnel attitude, a sprinkle of naivité, and a pop of the collar. BINGO! That's him. Now I don't even need to talk about what he said to me...honestly I wasn't really listening...because without any dialogue this fellow has the potential to chafe even the face of Mr. Mickey Rourke
More importantly my friend Sarah and I later were convinced to sit and talk with these 2 korean men. The only reason we sat down was not the lure of good conversation but by the fact that they offered us champagne (shameful?? nah). Well I should have known to bolt as soon as the promised champagne never arrived. However, Sarah was engaged in conversation with one so, as friends do, I stayed to entertain the friend. When the subject of food came up Sarah was hooked...ENTRAILS!!! I think she's been craving them for months. I went along with them next door to eat and indulge in a little soji, my first of the night. We go to sit down and I am praying that she'll sit next to me...of course...she doesn't. What a little bitchy!!! Cut to 30 minutes later, after the "friend" has been flicking at my nose ring and at one point took a nap on my shoulder, all of a sudden...*dink!* the fucker actually pulled a chunk of hair out of my head and put it in his pocket.UHHHHHH WHAT??? Yes...pocket...in...to KEEP. Now correct me if i'm wrong, but I am under the impression that there are only 2 reason a person would ever do such a thing. 1- to collect a DNA sample or 2- if you're a certifiable crazy person with the hopes of creating a hair doll. This guy wasn't giving off the forensic scientist vibe, therefor I was left to assume he fit comfortable into category #2.
To be continued....

The Welcome...

I know its inevitable to have a "first" post but isn't that really the most awkward one?? At this stage in the game (i.e. the day this blog was born) who will really be reading this anyways. I hope to give you a little taste of the craziness I encounter on a daily basis. Yeah, yeah, I know, crazy things happen to everyone. But I can assure that for reasons unknown (and many well...known) the number of said "things" seems to drastically increase when you are a foreigner living in Seoul. Sure there are a lot of foreigners here, but I am convinced that there are VERY few that truly dive head first into Korean culture like I do every day. No I'm not talking about temples or even kimchi. I'm talking SOJU...soooooooo- juuuuuuuuu. Wikipedia has this to say about soju:

"Soju is a distilled beverage native to Korea. Most brands of modern soju are made in South Korea. Though traditionally made from rice, most major brands supplement or even replace the rice with other starches such as potato, wheat, barley, sweet potato, or tapioca (called dangmil in Korean). Soju is clear in color and typically varies in alcohol content from about 20% to about 45% alcohol by volume (ABV), with 20% ABV being most common. Its taste is comparable to vodka, though often slightly sweeter because of the sugars added in the manufacturing process."

Sounds delicious right??? Well, its not (but it's not bad either). However, I end up drinking it on a regular basis. There is just something about it. It seems to make you feel unexplainable things...some good and some bad..and makes you forget other things. How many bottles can I drink??? Well let's find out shall we...
